I got to thinking today about the sunday school lesson I am preparing for tomorrow. Bible stories are great tools that we use to grow as a person, learn from, and be entertained by. But why are these stories so important? God knew how to deliver messages and get our attention in ways we might understand. Through stories and parables.
Well, There is a new book, with a twist, I picked up called "Pageland" by David Hutchens. Its a very different book that is supposed to be about sharing and love and working together, but it turns out the characters in this book take on a life of their own and start writing their own story the way they want it destroying what the author has planned. They eventually forget the author can help them "survive the coming end of the book". Only One girl realizes the author has all the power to write the ending the way he wants to. That girl says I will walk with you and her fear of the end of the book is gone. What a great message to kids about faith and being on God's side, because we don't know when the end of the book will be here. If we know and walk with the author we have nothing to fear! He can write as long as he wants and promise the happy ending!!
I got this book from a store called OLLIES and closeout retailer that carries a wide range of items at a fraction of the cost! There is another book I found called "Made for a Purpose" by Dandi Mackall put out by Zonderkids. This touches home to lonely child or one who doesn't think she needs any friends. The right kind of friends keep showing up all the time and she can't help but keep watching them and eventually realize the need for Godly friendships!! I love these books:)
