School has begun!!

Kira loves her new first grade teacher!! She is young and full of energy! A little difference from last year, her teacher was older - like a grandma to the kids. They grow up soo fast! All summer she talked about wanting to have the other teacher because she has a turtle in her classroom and she would get to take care of it. Well, she wasn't happy with the news that she has the teacher she got, but we tried to talk her up. Then when she came home from the first day of school she was sooooo glad to have this teacher because she has a "Treasure box" with real prizes to earn!! Whewww! I want school to be educational AND fun! It is so far!!

Derek started Pre -k last week. He has a long day monday til 2:15 and Wed and Fri til 12:00pm. He loves it and is so excited to be with his friends. He is a social bug! He already got in trouble for talking to his friends during class! He apologized the next day and got a high five from his teacher!! He was humbly proud of himself!!

Now that the kids are in school I am finally running more again after my hamstring pull! It felt great! monday Annie and I ran 5 miles! that same day Derek got home from school and immediately wanted to go for a bike ride, something we usally do because I don't usually run in the morning, so I got another mile and a half! I am almost ready for a 10K!!
