Story time...

Our local library had a "Spooky" story time last night. A friend invited us to go. I am thinking okay it's something to do they won't get too scared at the library. Well, it turned out to be a great time. Members from the American Chemistry association put on a great chemical event. They read stories about pumpkins and dragons and witch's brew. As they read the stories, a chemist was mixing concoctions of various elements to create a really neat, spooky and gross effects. Liquid Nitrogen was used to create cold "smoke" and "firey dragons". PVA and borax was used to make slime, and candle wax and baking soda was used to make writing on the wall appear! The kids got to try all these things! The best part was the slime and pretending to be firey dragons with cheetos dipped in liquid nitrogen. As they eat them the can blow smoke out their nose! I have pics to show this! This is the only time I will let them smoke! They had fun and learned alot about chemicals at the same time!
