The Family Foundation

Only 5% of kids who grow up in the church without their parents stay walking as Christians when they go to college. Only 30% of kids who go with one parent stay walking as Christians when they go to college. Encouragingly, 90% of kids who grow up in the church with both parents involved and attending regularly stay walking in their faith!

My husband Hugh is the foundation of our family! He wears many hats: husband, father, teacher, softball pitcher, counselor, evangelist, gardener, landlord, and helper to everyone! The list goes on. He is loyal and focused and always ready to help others. He provides us with a beautiful home.. a place of peace and safety. A place where he escapes the world of people who always need something from him. Home is a place where he can rejuvenate and gain perspective to tackle the next big day! I have learned that he needs that time and when he gets it he is productive to all of us! I thank God for him every day and have become more aware of all the little things he does for me. Thank you, honey!

I wouldn't be the mother I am without him. He leads our family spiritually and encourages us to stay focused on God's love and blessings in our lives. That is essential to my and our children's faith in Christ. He has a sense of contentment that makes even the most worn out toy the most fun to play with!
My job is to protect that sense of serenity and stay strong and supportive for him. I love you Honey!

Great post! In my blog and another one that I contribute to, there is a sense of men standing up and being the christian men they need to be. Hugh is the man he needs to be for you and your family.
