Pumpkin farm?

I have been wanting to take the kids to the pumpkin farm for a week now and it just didn't seem to work out. However, last night we decided to try to get there. We got the kids off the bus and drove 45 minutes to the farm. Derek fell asleep on the way. It was a great road trip up until we pull into the farm. It starts to rain a little! Hugh said we aren't spending the money to get in if it's going to rain. Hugh takes a vote as to whether we should stay or not. I say yes it looks like the rain will pass. Kira says NO It's no fun in the rain. Derek wakes up and says "It's just a little rain Dad. I don't mind getting wet! " Hugh makes the executive decision to get back in the car and go home.

We were hungry so Kira won again with her vote for KFC for dinner. Then we saw that the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" was playing at the dollar theater. I was thinking Derek would be scared. Kira couldn't wipe the smile off her face! Derek was as brave as could be even though cousin said it was scary. Hugh said What if I get scared Derek? Derek said We can just leave Dad if you're too scared.

So we went to the movie. It was a good movie. Only a little scary and quite educational about the earth and it's compounds, volcano's, and good humor too.

Hugh said "I was a little scared Derek" and Derek said, "Who cares about a "little" dinosaur!" I could just kick him and he will go away! Dad "it's just a movie!" He was too cute!

It turned out to be a great family time!
