I just got back from Cedarville.. I had a very nice time touring the campus and playing in the Alumni Softball game! It has been about 8 years since I have seen a fastball whizz by me and I am expected to hit it!! I played first base which is not really where I play but I enjoyed the position. I have been playing in a modified league for the last 8 years where they don't steal or bunt very often. I was quickly reminded of the much faster pace fastpitch is played. I have been sitting in the bleachers watching my husband play Men's fastpitch all these years. That wasn't enough to keep me updated on the actual speed I used to play. I actually hit the ball three times. That's all I really wanted to do! I hope my husband and I can help with the program in the years to come.
Coach Rowe was great. He split the Cedarville team in half and filtered in the alumni to form two teams and we played each other. The pitchers did well. The players have a lot of talent.
I brought potential player with me to the game from Erie. She was very grateful for the catcher who gave her many tips she could take back with her. Melinda felt comfortable there and hopes to attend in two years.
The campus has grown so much! I enjoyed eating in the new cafeteria for the first time in 15 years! It's like a food court in a mall! Anything you want anytime! No wonder they warn new students about the freshman 15(lbs)!
Overall it was a great trip!
