Can we know for sure?

When you say it out loud, it sounds a bit different.

There is a big issue debate lately about Eternal Securtiy. Can we know for sure we are going to heaven? YES!!!

Here is what I think. Charles Stanley has helped make this a little more clear.

A gift is a gift is a gift!!

Eph2:8-9 " For by grace your are save through faith, It(salvation) is a GIFT of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."

Paul says salvation is a gift. I don't know about you, but I learned that a gift that can be taken back is not a gift! True gifts have no strings attached. Once you place a condition of any kind on a gift, it becomes a TRADE, not a GIFT!
To say that salvation can be taken from us for any reason, whether it be sin or disbelief, is to ignore the plain meaning of this verse and John 4:10.

Ephesians 4:30 " And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were SEALED for the day of redemption."

What if you lose faith in God? Are you still saved?

Let's look at faith.

1. Faith is not the reason God saves us. Love is the reason according to Paul in Eph.

2. We are not saved by our faith. We are saved by grace. The instrument of salvation was and is grace. God carried out His plan through Christ's shed blood on the cross. WE did not take part in it, nor do we deserve any part of it. It was GRACE from start to finish.

Then paul adds...through faith. Faith is the agent whereby God was able to apply His grace to the life of the sinner.

Imagine a burning building and a woman trapped on ledge three stories up. Her only hope is to jump into the net that has been set right below her. She is scared. We can see the net and it looks strong enough to hold her, the firemen are confident that she will jump and spare her life. Suddenly, without warning the woman screams and leaps from the building. The firemen caught her and the woman escaped with only minor injuries.

Think for a moment. What saved the woman's life?

The net of course. No one would credit her with saving her own life. Fortunately the firemen were trained and knew what to do and saved her.
What bridged the gap between her need and the provision waiting below?
One desperate leap!! However, leaping did not save her. Many people leap only to end up dead on the pavement below. The net and the firemen saved her.

So it is with FAITH. Faith does not save a person. Everyone has expressed faith at one point or another. Yet not everyone will spend eternity in heaven. God's GRACE is what saves us.. Our faith is the thing that bridges the gap between our need and God's GRACE.

Our faith is constantly under attack! WE ask WHY Lord?

"The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8

Our salvation is NOT based on the condtion of our consistent faith. It is based on Grace.
Even John the Baptist, who gave up his life to spread the word of our coming Savior, began to doubt. He was not sure Christ was who he thought he was. Luke 7:17-20. Yet Christ still said ...of those born of women, there is no one greater than John. Luke 7: 27-28.

Rest Assured! Your salvation is safe if you have prayed to Jesus christ, repented of your sin, Believed that Jesus paid the penalty for your sin on the cross with His shed blood, and asked Jesus christ to come into your life and save you! Your name is written in the Lamb's book of life and cannot be erased!!

when you feel alone, don't lose faith. God hasn't let go! He will never leave you and you can't impeach Him!! Feel Safe! Rest in His peace! Put on the new man Christ has willed you to be!!
