THE BUZZARD :
If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open
at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute
prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground
with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will
not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail
with no top.
THE BAT:
The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in
the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or
flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt,
painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw
itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.
THE BUMBLEBEE:
A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies,
unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but
persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It
will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.
PEOPLE:
In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We
struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that
all we have to do is look up! Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But
faith looks up! Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly,
And trust in our Creator Who loves us.
I say Amen to this!!
I spent some time tonight talking with several people at a party. One person in particular brought to my attention that her life was not as she planned and wished she could do things over again. Her kids didn't turn out like she had hoped (yet anyway) and her husband is nothing like what she married. This can be painful.
She does not know the peace that knowing Jesus Christ can bring to her life. Prozac is her answer. Sometimes this helps and is very much needed to get you through tough times emotionally. But the only real answer is knowing Jesus Christ who knows us inside and out and takes all our worries on Him. He doesn't leave us in our sorrow. He changes our hearts first and then starts to works on those we love. All we have to do is ask and emulate Christ's example. Much easier said than done, I know. All it takes is one step of faith.
All it takes is one step to get on that really exciting roller coaster to experience the thrill it gives us when we get on.
One act of kindness can open up doors to relationships that we never thought we could have.
Be hopeful and Don't worry!! The fruits of our lives are a picture of what is truly in our hearts. The more time I put into my kids the happier they are. The more patient I am when things aren't going as planned, the more cooperation I get to accomplish what I started. I could go on.. Just more thoughts rolling around my brain.
Look up and see the Glory of Jesus Christ!
