Do I have Time.....

...to get everything done?

I am getting busy again!! Its the time of year people start redecorating their homes and need help!! I work for Sherwin Williams as Decorator. I go to people's homes to help them with colors and ideas. I also put hours in at the store. I try to do all these things while my children are in school. This past week was a big sacrifice for my family because I spent alot of time at home prepare color boards for customers to meet their deadlines. Taxes got pushed back, even family night was tapped into!! All for the good of who - Sherwin williams! Okay where were my priorities!! My guilt to provide great customer service was coupled with my guilt of missing my family time has stressed me out!!! Above all the customer still hasn't picked up the samples due to a delay! That fries me even more!! However - they are done for whenever he can pick them up!! I have to look at the positive side.

I have been reading a book called "The Lies women believe and the truth that sets them free" by Nancy Demoss

This really sat me down!
The Lie: "I don't have time to do everything I am supposed to do."

The feeling: I am so busy, we have so much going on in our family, I can't keep up with everything!

When you look at all the ammenities we have today, why are we so much more frazzled??
We all have 24 hours in a day!

Jesus himself was given only a few short years on earth to accomplish the entire plan of redemption. Talk about a long "to do " list!
Here is the powerful truth. In the 33 years Jesus wsa here on earth Jesus said, " I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do." John 17:4 That is the secret! Jesus didn't finish everything His disciples wanted Him to do. ( Some of them were hoping He would overthrow the Roman government!) He didn't finish everything the multitudes wanted Him to do.(There were still lonely, sick and dying people). He finished the work that God gave Him to do!!
We can't do everyone else's to do list. We don't have to do all those things without sacrificing something. We only HAVE to do God's list for us! What relieving words!! I will still do my job and I will still be a wife ,and mother, but my perspective will be different. I will prioritize my time better and not promise things I can't fulfill. When fulfilling God's list suffers so does everything else. Same goes for the opposite. When God's list is fulfilled, there seems to still be time to complete other things for other people. If there isn't time, it can wait for tomorrow! I hope this encourages you too!!
