The Future.....

I really liked that saying on a picture I bought today. At first, it hit me with a depressing feeling like there is no hope for anything else but what is now. Then I read it again and came to this conclusion. What we do now affects tommorrow! Every decision we make today shapes the outcome of not only our future but future in general. The picture doesn't bring hope unless we have the promise of heaven in our future. I bought it as a conversation starter and as reminder that our choices matter.

Perspective is important too. I could do lots of things I would regret just because I don't know what tomorrow brings and this life is short so live it up.

The other alternative is doing what counts with a purpose in mind. Life has no purpose without Jesus Christ!!! We have families, jobs, hobbies and intersts that fill our days, but why do we do what we do?

I would rather chose to earn as many jewels as I can to lay at Jesus' feet than waste time trying to get a better wardrobe, car, house, toy etc. Having nice things is okay when we get them and use them for the right reasons.

I have been reiminded today that every decision is important! "For whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue, anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things -- may the God of Peace be with you!! Phil 4:8-9
