If I just found out the most devistating news of my life -I have cancer - what would I do? Here is to the friend whom God has chosen:
Here is what I would do: Cry, Pray, Cry and pray some more. Then I would act like nothing is wrong for a while, then I would face the reality. I would cling to my family and friends and ask for help and prayer then I would think of the best way to get the healing show on the road!! Prayer has to be the first thing I do, without divine intervention all of my solutions are worth nothing! I would wait to see what God says then I would do it! Adam and Eve had a perfect diet set before them without regret of eating anything that might not be healthy. (except from one apple tree, but that is another story) They aren't missing Coke and diet pepsi, McDonalds french fries and all the other sugary sweets we all crave. Noone has genetically changed the food they ate. It's all healthy!! What a perfect world! Then there is Daniel who had the tempation of the King's table every day and he chose to eat healthy fruits and veggies etc. He was stronger for it! He ate what God told him to!
I would eat better!! I would cleanse my body of as many toxins as I could with herbal cleasing products such as bowltrol or oxy powder. I believe God gave us nature for our healing benefits. I would do what the doctor says, Of course!
I would have to tell my kids about my condition which would not be easy. A verse comes to mind in Psalm 145:4 - "Let each generation tell his children of your mighty acts and let them proclaim your power.! My kids can see God's blessing in healing and my response to adversity and share it with their friends. Speaking of God's power illuminates God's glory and strength to all! After all that is our most important role while we are here!!
I would be in a win/win situation. If I win the battle I get to stay with my family and friends for a little longer. If I lose the battle with a disease I win with Christ- I get to be with HIM! My family on the other hand would have to live without me here and wait longer to be in the most glorious place ever! I would make the most of everyday! My view of what's important becomes more clear and my life will be used for what God wants me to do! Everyday I have to chose my direction and my attitude! The little things just don't matter anymore. Laughter and humor heal a down trodden heart and accomplish closer friendships!
I would pray these verses daily:
James 5:16 says "The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
Psalm 145:19 says "He grants the desires of those who fear Him, He hears their cries for help and rescues them."
To God be the Glory!!

I agree, to God be all the glory. I am still finding out what I would do, what I want to do, and what I NEED to do.
Whatever happens, God will get the glory!!
